Thailand is renowned for its traditional customs and Phuket, due to its geographical location, has a very interesting, rich and unique story of its own. Burmese invasions, tin mining, rubber trading, various religious beliefs and tourism have all played a role in shaping the Phuket we all enjoy today. On this tour guests can relax and enjoy a trip back in time as the Leisure Host ventures off the beaten track giving you a real insight into Phuket culture.

Phuket Cultural Experience
10:00 Pick up from your hotel and travel to Thalang town. On route, the English speaking Host will inform guests of the principles of Thaiculture, Thai Buddhism and history of Phuket.
10:15 Arrive at Phra Thong Temple in Thalang, famous for the half-buried golden Buddha statue called Luang Poh Phra Thong (Golden Buddha) in its grounds.
11:15 Visit Thalang National Museum, an important cultural attraction of Phuket, containing ancient artifacts from Phuket’s colourful history.
12:30 Arrive Rang Hill to enjoy panoramic views over southern Phuket. Then enjoy a delicious traditional Thai food lunch.
13:10 Visit Old Phuket Town which was built on the riches reaped from Phuket’s tin mining boom of last century, when the metal was an extremely valuable commodity. In this quarter of the town you will see old buildings designed in Sino-Portuguese architectural style.
13:30 Visit the local fresh market and sample some exotic Thai fruits which are unique to the region as the English speaking Host leads guests through the very interesting, bustling market.
14:00 Arrive at Jui Tui Chinese Temple. Built in the 1920’s, it’s the oldestand most famous of the Chinese temples in Phuket.
14:15 After an enjoyable cultural experience we bring guests back to the 21st century with the fi nal stop of the day at a department store to do a bit of shopping.
15:00 Return to your hotel.
15:30 Arrive back at your hotel.
