Snorkeling, islands hopping, pearl farm...
Phuket has many offshore islands - some only 15 minutes away, others
a little further. If you don't want to travel far by boat, Coral Island
is the perfect choice.. go snorkeling with the dedicated snorkeling
boat or take a twilight or
half-day speed boat trip for a picnic.
Racha Yai, located approximately 1 hour away, offers a very colourful
snorkeling experience with choices of shallow and deep reefs, yet with
some challenging and fun drift diving for both beginner and experienced
divers.
Perhaps take a half-day trip to Ko Khai.. how about joining the pearl
farm tour to Ko Naka Noi and do some shopping.. the romancing
honeymoon trips with bouquet of flowers, a bottle of Chardonnay
is also a good idea for a honeymooner - the choice is all yours.

James Bond Island, Caves, Hongs, Sea Gypsies
Spectacular limestone scenery rising from the sea, mangroves, sea
caves and little coves - this is Phang Nga Bay! One of southern Thailand's
most scenic areas. Take a day trip or a leisurely cruise in a converted
Chinese Junk. Or step up the pace
and take a tour by speed boat
from either Phuket or Krabi. Go sightseeing
and stop at the now famous "James Bond Island" (a movie location)
and Koh Pannyi - an unusual village perched on stilts above the water,
with a backdrop of towering limestone cliffs.
For an alternative view of the bay, take a canoe
trip along the coastline and explore the caves and hidden interior
lagoons (Don't worry someone else will do the paddling!) Learn about
mangroves and the fragile environments hidden inside this secret world...
Inland, Phang Nga also has a rich forest interior perfect for eco-tours,
whitewater rafting
and elephant trekking. Take a day or go overnight for an experience
you won't forget...

Snorkeling, sightseeing, speed boats, scuba
diving
OK. This is the film set, the picture postcard destination
- everything a paradise island should be. Perfect white sand beaches,
crystal water, amazing natural scenery. In fact there are two Phi Phi
Islands. The smaller Phi Phi Ley - is uninhabited and simply created
for snorkelling. This idyllic island featured in the film "The
Beach" is also a favourite refuge for yachtsmen and scuba
divers.
To see more of these paradise islands, take a speedboat
from Phuket or Krabi, explore little coves and bays, stopping for snorkelling
or sightseeing. Alternatively enjoy a more leisurely voyage by express
boat. The choice is yours.

Islands hopping, rock climbing, kayaking
Krabi, a southern province on Thailand's Andaman seaboard, is rich
in history, culture and breathtaking scenery. There are unspoilt white
sandy beaches, numerous offshore islands and even a beach entirely composed
of prehistoric shells millions of years old.
It's a great place to relax and simply enjoy. Definitely worth a visit.

Beaches, unspoilt natures, trekking, national
park
Just one hour north of Phuket island, in mainland Phang Nga province,
lies Khao Lak. An area of unspoilt natural beauty and a relatively new
tourist destination, Khao Lak has long stretches of sandy beach fringed
by the mountains of the surrounding national park. Take it easy, or
explore the surrounding area with
an eco-tour which includes elephant trekking in the forest and bamboo
rafting. It's a perfect getaway..
Khao Lak makes a good base for sightseeing and kayaking
tours in nearby Phang Nga Bay. It's also a good jumping off point for
the Similan Islands
just one hour away, which offer superb diving. Day trips operate from
November to April with specialist dive operators, but if you prefer
just snorkeling and sightseeing,
you can charter a speedboat.

Natural jungle, wildlife
Khao Sok National Park, is the largest area of natural jungle in southern
Thailand. Just a 90 minute drive from Phuket Island, the area has outstanding
natural beauty, with spectacular limestone mountains, cliffs, caves,
rivers, and waterfalls. Much of the forest is still intact and home
to a huge variety of tropical birds, animals, insects, reptiles and
plant life. Elephant, Tapir, Gibbons and even Rafflesia (the largest
flower in the world - up to 80cm in diameter!) are to be found in this
diverse and special place.
Go for a day trip or better still,
stay overnight in the Jungle
Safari , Elephant Hills Luxury
Tent.

Scuba diving, snorkeling, sunbathing
Not as dramatic as the limestone scenery of Phang Nga Bay and Krabi,
but the Similan Islands National Park consists of nine, densely wooded
islands fringed with rocky outcrops and gorgeous beaches with fine talcum
powder-like sand.
The main attraction of these islands however, is the diving.
The Similans offer an incredibly varied underwater landscape. Sloping
hard coral reefs and shallow coral gardens on the east side of the islands,
and totally different scenery - huge granite boulders, caverns and swim-throughs
on the west side. Day trips
operate from November to April, but serious divers should consider a
4/6 day "liveaboard"
trip which includes on board accommodation, meals and world class diving.
Non-divers and snorkellers can also visit for the day or stay
overnight. Take a speedboat
which allows enough time for superb snorkelling and sightseeing.
